Automate Comment Moderation

Getting a lot of Spam?

Do you have the option to only allow registered users to post comments on your blog or have comments turned off all together and are still getting spam comments? Well, you’re not alone.

The options to turn off, or moderate, comments on your blog are designed to stop people from posting comments. Basically, by hiding those features from viewers. However, the code is still there in the background and spammers have developed new methods to submit comments directly, in the background, bypassing these settings.

The solution, even after WordPress fixes this problem, is to use spam stoppers such as: Akismet and Bad Behavior. These type of plugins automate moderation sending spam directly to the spam folder or stopping them all together.

If you have a lot of comments built up in your site already, you can delete them all at once with WPCommentCleaner.
